Dan Balz served as National Political Correspondent for The Washington Post during the 2004 election season. He is now the Chief Correspondent at The Washington Post. He is the co-author of several books, including two New York Times Bestsellers: Collision 2012: The Future of Election Politics in a Divided America, and The Battle for America 2008, both narrative histories of the most recent presidential campaigns. In 2011, he received the White House Correspondents’ Association’s Merriman Smith award for deadline writing about the presidency and the National Press Club’s award for political analysis.[1]
